K2 Creative Productions blossomed out of a group of like-minded, talented and creative people who worked together to help produce the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada. Inspired by the world’s best athletes striving for perfection, K2 Creative Productions aims to bring the same Olympic spirit to every event they put their hands on.

Conceptually, we strive to deliver the same studio class productions from the far reaches of the world to the most intimate of settings. From the mountain tops to the sea, from the jungle to the desert in every theater, stadium, boardroom or ballroom, we bring integrated, cutting-edge technology productions to your audience. The combined talents of K2’s production partners result in a uniquely versatile, client friendly, technically savvy collaborative team that possesses the creative vision, technical resourcefulness, instinctive curiosity, and competitive drive to present engaging stories across every conceivable platform.

KRIS SEVERSON
Producer/Partner

Kris Severson, Partner and CEO of K2 Creative Productions, is a world renowned large event producer with over two decades of experience producing sport, music and entertainment around the globe.

As a producer/director, Severson has created, produced and overseen hundreds of productions on 6 continents for large scale events that include 6 Olympic Games, 2018 FIFA World Cup, FIS Skiing World Championships, X Games, Sundance Film Festival, and a multitude of international events.  He has worked with FOX Television, DreamWorks SKG and Universal Television in Los Angeles as well. Musically, Severson has produced artist ranging from Tony Bennett, John Legend, and Al Jarreau to Blues Traveler,  Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood. From 2004-2008, Severson served as the Executive Director of the Park City Jazz Foundation producing the Park City Jazz Festival and concerts for the Sundance Film Festival

Severson specializes in large format Venue Production, recognizing the vital importance of the ‘Sports Cultural Movement’ in this day and age, and is continually committed to bringing the spirit of that movement to the world in the most entertaining, accessible way while maintaining the highest of integrity of sport itself, while recognizing the culture of the nations that host those games.  He is intimately familiar with large event international LOC’s such as the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup and navigates host nations organizational structure while servicing the needs of both HBS/OBS and other national broadcasters.  He has made it a priority to develop and improve the products and activities as well as the presentation of those events to achieve this goal worldwide.

Severson is a graduate of University of Utah with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and also studied post graduate with Goldman Sacs 10,000 Small Business Masters Program. He is former US Ski Team member who competed in Ski Jumping around the world from 1985-1993 and a 1st Alternate to US Olympic Team 1992 Alberville, France. He presently lives with his wife and two sons in Park City, Utah, all of which are avid skiers and outdoors persons.

CHRISTOPHER HANSON

Chris has worked in almost every arena of TV and film since 1998. An Emmy award winning TV producer and filmmaker, he’s a director, producer, editor, writer and cameraperson. A jack of all trades, his feature film credits include directing cult favorites Scrapple and Widespread Panic’s The Earth Will Swallow You. He’s worked as a Field Producer for unscripted TV shows Ice Road Truckers (History Channel), American Hoggers (A&E), Southern Charm (Bravo) and Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes (CBS). He was General Manager for Plum TV in Telluride, Colorado, nominated for an Emmy Award for Station Excellence. He’s shot camera for the Winter X Games and The Crossfit Games. Projects and clients include: The LEAF Festival; SXSW Music Festival; the Alpine World Skiing World Championships; Earthecho International; Outside TV; The Golf Channel; AirBnB; and The Charleston Jazz Orchestra.
